idea Set as default: Display only coded values from domains instead of descriptions in ArcGIS Pro Ideas

Hello! As discussed in previous topics, it’s possible to display the coded value without the description for a particular table in ArcGIS PRO (by unchecking the 'Display coded value domain and subtype descriptions' option, in the table menu).

I’m looking for a way to set it this way as default for all tables (we used to be able to do it in ArcMap via the customize menu). Is there a way to get this done in the PRO version? Thank you very very much to all of you very knowledgeable people and have a good day!

Alex

Would love to see a universal option to display coded values instead of descriptions in all tables from any source by default. Certain schemas I work with regularly have...unfortunate coded value / description architecture, which causes many users who are not deeply familiar with domains to field calculate their fields to the description rather than the coded value.

A fine workaround is to have users mass-code domain fields using the Attributes Window rather than Calculate Field, which prevents hand-jamming; I am working on a how-to video for this right now. But old habits, as we know, die hard. We also have an automated ArcPy script that will fix domain fields that have been hand-jammed to the description rather than coded value, but due to security etc., getting that tool in their hands, and then of course adoption, etc., is its own challenge.

Being able to let folks know, "Hey, go to options, search, toggle this off" is a low LOE way to prevent the hand-jamming from happening in the first place.
