Street placement labeling style -- avoid intersections parameter

I've messed with all the bells and whistles I can find, but I cannot find a way to get my street labels to stick to non-intersecting segments. Pro is aligning labels with each other from street-to-street which is very nice, but this causes issues in areas where those alignment lines intersect - ex. W 2nd Ave isn't labeling at all. I hate to have to convert to graphics or annotation for something so small. A parameter to keep labels off intersections (whether there are planarized vertices or not) would be fantastic; bonus points if the user can set the lines of alignment. In cities with a quadrant or other directional system, this would come in handy for aligning to the origin or other desired path.

If I set them to repeat, they get off each other, but then there's no sense of alignment anymore. The placement becomes very random depending on the value I set there (and it doesn't actually repeat since I want all duplicates removed anyway)

The help at Label using the Street placement style—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation simply states that "When labeling streets, the Maplex Label Engine places labels to avoid street junctions," but this isn't happening; further, modifying the 'End of street clearance' parameters suggested by the help to "avoid placing labels in or near street junctions" does not change their placement.

Maplex has improved label placement in this situation and you should see better results since ArcGIS Pro version 3.2.
