idea Bring the Label by Clicking data frame tool from Desktop to Pro. in ArcGIS Pro Ideas

The one thing I miss most from Desktop is the ability to label items in the data frame by clicking on them. In a project with hundreds of possible labels among dozens of features, the ability to label only the items you want to be labeled and only in the exact location the label needs to be is a must. The only options currently available are to turn labels into graphics or annotations. That is a slow and clumsy process. The label engines provided cannot possibly place labels at the best place for every label regardless of how many rules you set or feature/label hierarchy

Re: Bring the Label by Clicking data frame tool from Desktop to Pro. - Status changed to: Already Offered

The ArcGIS Pro equivalent of the "Label tool" is the "Auto Text tool" with the one additional step that you need to add a graphics layer to the map first. ArcMap maps had a graphics layer built in which was convenient in some cases but problematic in others. The ArcGIS Pro graphics layer is more flexible in symbology and contents pane ordering.
