Active select tool when an edit tool is chosen

While editing features, it would be helpful if the select tool would activate when you choose tool such as "Reshape". Currently when I will click on the tool, it highlights a sketch tool. I then have to click on the select tool, then select the feature I want to modify. You need to select a feature before editing it. This change would save a click.

Can you confirm that you don't already have a selection in place that the Reshape tool could work with? Because when I have no features selected and activate the Reshape tool, it does exactly what you are proposing; i.e. the select tool is immediately activated.

I did have other features selected prior to selecting a tool. When no features are selected, the selection tool is activated. Thanks for your post.
