During Create Feature Class, Allow 'Click any field above to see its properties'.

In the Create Feature Class process, the bottom of Page 2/6 Fields page shows the instruction:

"Click any field above to see its properties".

However, if you click directly on a field, the Field Properties does not display. You have to click the gray area to the left of a field name to display Field Properties.

Please allow the display of field properties when a field is clicked (according to the instruction).

If that is not possible, then perhaps make the gray area to the left of the field more distinctive with box separators to indicate there is somewhere else to click to get to the field properties, nd modify the instrction to "Click to the left of any field above to see its properties".

I found my students gave up trying to modify field properties and opened the attribute table > Fields View > to make modifications. Thanks for considering.
