I'd like to be able to drag and drop elements (photos) into the layout view. This should be an option if you "drop" the object outside of the TOC or the data frame. Much simpler than navigating through the "Insert" UI.

Just tried in "Pro" 3.0.2 - still doesn't work, 12 years later. Can't even copy + paste (from File Explorer) 🤦🏼‍:male_sign:

I'm looking for the ability to simply drag a photo (such as png) onto a layout in Pro from File Explorer or another tool I use called Everything search (which does allow for drag and drop of things like shapefiles). Currently though I get the ":prohibited:" cursor from either source.

I also tried dragging the .png from the catalog pane and that didn't work either, nor did copy > paste from any source. It seems the only way is to manually go Insert > Graphics and Text > Picture and re-navigate to your graphic.

Drag-and-drop would provide intuitive functionality consistent with most other graphic design programs.
