idea Enhancing Copy/Paste Functionality with Field Mapping in ArcGIS Pro Ideas

When one uses the Copy/Paste functionality in ArcMap to paste a set of features from one feature class to another, there is no way to account for differences in the schemas of the two data sets.

Could we add the ability to map fields when using the Copy/Paste functionality, or is there a better solution already available?

One reason for this approach: Load Data in ArcCatalog does not offer the immediate interaction with the data that Copy/Paste does.

One point against this approach: perhaps this functionality is supposed to be low-level in functionality because of the other available tools to use for the purpose.

This is basically what Append tool does.

What could marry Copy>>Paste to Append is if we could feed Append a selection set. E.g. select a bunch of features >> r-click >> Data >> Export to tool >> {select GP tool}, which would be Append in this case.
