Hi Jason, firstly thank you for posting this 2Tutorial. I'm running into trouble when I try and replicate the extrusions though. I am copying the code as per the video example, but my extrusions always seem to begin at the second floor. Additionally, the first 3 floors are extruded at the height I set (3m), but then the top two floors appear to be double that. It also groups the floor levels together in a strange way, i.e., my floororder 5 when selected is the top two floors (blue shading), but it should just be the uppermost floor. I've attached a screenshot, but any advice would be appreciated.

Hello Parcel Editors,

Here's a 2torial (a two minute tutorial) on a new feature in ArcGIS Pro 3.1; Strata Parcels. This new functionality allows you to enable floor awareness for any parcel type. Simply adding the new field FloorOrder (type LONG) to both a polygon and line feature class of a parcel type will enable this new functionality. Watch this video to see how to make your vertical parcel data more accessible both in 2D and in 3D.

<video-js data-video-id="6321334697112" data-account="6161463677001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

For more information on all the features seen in this video please check out the following links:

Strata Parcels at ArcGIS Pro 3.1

Elevation Surface Layers

Data Extrusion

Range Slider

For example: If a Unit of a Condo has been sold/transferred to another party several times, Can we track or display the transaction as the History Parcel?
Many thanks for considering my request.

But in terms of a condominium, the shape of a condo's unit has remained and what changed is Ownership. To create a new record and duplicate the parcel floor/unit, the parcel seems to be multiplied. So, my main purpose here is: How can we track that history when doing a deed of conveyance on ownership for a con

do's unit through Parcel Fabric Record (3D Parcel Fabric)

Make sure that you've added the Floor Order field (type LONG) to both Lines and Polys of a specific parcel type. Then when you duplicate the parcels for different floors set the Floor Order field as the field to be incremented. Then you should be able to see the parcels for each floor value.

Based on the graphic if that floor unit you have selected is floor 5 that means the "first floor" that you duplicated from are all Floor 0 and I'm guess the expression doesn't show because it's doing some sort of multiplication by 0. You might want to select all those first floor units and set them equal to 1, then run the duplicate parcel on those. As for the extrusion, in that expression you have you're multiplying the Floor by a value which would give you a larger number for each floor. You can just return a solid number like 5 and then each floor will be extruded by 5 (meters or feet or whatever unit you use).

Can you point to an Esri Parcel Fabric meetup that covers Strata Parcels? Thank you!

Hey @LearnThenShare_JC

The Floor Order field is simply a LONG field nothing else special. It does not need to be set up as a required field and it can accept NULL values.

The only behaviors that happen when the Floor Order field is created on both lines and polygons is that when running the Duplicate Parcels tool and using the Floor Order field as the Update Field, the lines will be duplicated for each iteration. The behavior for Duplicate Parcels when using any other field the lines will not be duplicated, only the polygon.

So to answer your questions individually:

1. The field can be empty (null) and back-filled

2. The 3D visualization is up to you how NULL Floor Order values are presented. You can set up the extrusion method however you please.

3. Long does not have to have a DEFAULT value. It can be null. You can set up a default value if you like meaning that all parcel polys and/or lines can always default to 0. But that is not required.

4. We cover strata parcels in this MeetUp briefly: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-parcel-fabric-videos/meetup-introduction-to-record-driven-workflows/m-p/1322272#M139

You can also find more info here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/parcel-editing/createstrataparcels.htm
