Lock a filter on a hosted feature layer view?

Is there a way to "lock" a filter applied to an ArcGIS Online layer view so that other users can't change the filter? I need to be able to set up separate layer views for different users where they can't see others' records. Setting a filter on a layer view doesn't accomplish this since the user can just load the layer view in a web map and change or remove the filter. Thanks.

Hi Michael Koutnik‌

You need to apply the filter when setting the view definition on the visualization tab:

This modifies the layer so that the the filter is applied at the layer level and cannot be removed except by the data owner or administrator. Filters set on the layer in the web map can be modified by data viewers.
