    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I have ArcGIS 9.3.1 and would like to share content using a web map (including the data in the geodatabase).&amp;nbsp; My understanding is that I am unable to add a layer package to ArcGIS Online that can be accessible from a web map using ArcGIS 9.3.1.&amp;nbsp; is that correct?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If this is the case, then I am looking for an alternative approach.&amp;nbsp; If you have an ArcGIS Server in your enterprise, are you able to create and host a Map Service that can be accessible to the general public?&amp;nbsp; Can this Map Service be incorporated with the basemaps available on ArcGIS Online and ultimately used in Flex &amp;amp; iOS applications?&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;J&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
