Duplicate FID generated when I try to update hosted layer data

Append data to Hosted Feature Layer creates duplicate fields (duplicate FID's!!) in ArcGIS online that do not exist in my appended data when viewed in ArcGIS pro or ArcMAP. When I download the shapefile, it also does not show duplicate FID's. If I open the hosted layer in ArcGIS Pro from arcGIS cloud, it does show duplicate fields. How do I stop it from duplicating the counties when I update the data I have joined to them?

Steps taken to reproduce bug:

1. Append .csv data to hosted layer

2. Choose FID = Object ID in append dialogue

3. check to make sure fields match up (they do)

4. apply

5. Multiple fields created
