Missing Data from Uploaded Layers

I'm working on publishing some data in web layers for an ongoing project. I previously had a working copy on AGOL but things have gone awry since attempting to update the web layer. I updated the layer with the new data in Pro (currently using 3.7.1 but had this issue with an older version as well) and went to upload it again. This is a polygon layer, but uploading the layer (either to overwrite the old or as a separate, new layer) results in data disappearing from it.

and the map loads and renders correctly in Pro.

When uploading it to AGOL, I run into the following problems:

No polygons will display any more
Data is missing

I can't figure out why. The layer has no joins or relates.

There is no page query or definition query.

I cannot figure out what is happening or why. The way that I updated the layer in Pro was by using the Append tool to add the new features to the existing dataset.

Most recently, the auto-generated thumbnail for the content actually displays everything correctly, but then refuses to open in the map.

If anybody has experienced anything similar or knows of any solutions, please do let me know! I'm losing my mind here.

Can you disable the time slider part of the layer? Sometimes enabling time can cause layers to display unexpectedly.
