Copying hosted feature layer results in no data

Hello,

I am trying to copy a hosted feature layer. The layer is owned by another member of my organization, we are both administrators within our organization.

I have tried:

Exporting the hosted feature layer to a feature collection, then publishing the feature collection to a hosted feature layer. This is the recommended method here: https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-create-an-independent-copy-of-a-hosted-feature-l-000024339
Copying the feature layer through the AGOL Assistant, using the "Full copy" option

Both methods have resulted in "no data" in the copied layer.

The data owner also tried copying the layer into a new hosted feature layer and also resulted in no data. Is copying features currently broken or is there a step we are missing?

Hi @Meredith_Keraga , Thank you for posting the question! I tested the workflow at my end (exporting as a Feature collection > Public the Feature collection as a Hosted feature layer), and I do not reproduce the same issue.

Is the behavior specific to any item?
Have you tried exporting the data in a different format, for example, as a File geodatabase >> Publish to confirm if it reproduces?

Another potential avenue we can test is doing the copy via the Clone_Items() method within the ArcGIS API for Python - https://developers.arcgis.com/python/latest/guide/cloning-content/
