When publishing a feature class from ArcPro to ArcGIS Online, how to preserve attribute field number of decimal places?

I am attempting to publish a point feature class from ArcPro to ArcGIS Online, and in ArcPro, the number of decimal places to display is set two decimal places, or to the hundredths, however, when it gets published to ArcGIS Online, the numbers are padded with 4 zero's, out to the ten thousandths place. I assume the field display settings in ArcPro should ensure that when the data is uploaded to ArcGIS Online, the displayed data remains the same as before publication. Any help is appreciated.

You can format the field in Map Viewer. With the layer selected, click to open Fields, select the field, and configure the settings:

I am aware of the configuration process in ArcGIS Online, but I am wondering if there are certain field types or settings within in ArcPro that will ensure the number of decimal places remains once publishing to AGOL.

When you publish a feature class, the underlying numeric data type is preserved, but the display format from ArcGIS Pro is not. The best practice at this time would be to configure the field properties in ArcGIS Online, then save that to the layer. That way anytime you add the layer to a map, it will have those properties set.
