problems saving map

Hi - I have a student who is trying to save a map in AGOL. When he does, he gets the message "Unable to add layer ..." and the name of his map. He tried changing the map name and still gets the same "unable to add layer" but with the new name. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you - Katie

It says unable to add layer but that is the name of the map, strange. Rename the Map without using "." it may be issue with special characters.

Oh I should add, there were no special characters. The first time the student tried to save the map, it was called (without the quotations marks) "Lab One PB." And when he hit save he got the error "unable to add layer Lab One PB." While troubleshooting, I asked him to edit the title to "Lab 1.1 PB," which he was able to do, but again, when he tried to save it, the exact same error message came up "unable to add layer Lab 1.1 PB."

Hi, This is a strange one! One other thing to check - Can you see if there are any errors on the basemap layers (like the attached photo)? Sometimes a bad layer there can cause issues when saving the web map. Would also be interested to know if you get the same error reconstructing a new map from scratch with the same layers and saving it.
