Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone might have a suggestion on a good mobile unit that would run on windows.

We had been using Field Maps on galaxy tablets, which worked well; however now our public works folks want to be able to use VPN and for that, we have to have windows running.

I know field maps will not work on windows; but I was thinking they could use EXB/AGOL directly in Chrome or edge and edit using the web browser.

The problem with their current surface tablets is that the users do not have location services.

I am hoping if we get surface pros with 5G/LTE (i.e. Microsoft Surface Pro 11 5G) that will fix the location issue?

I tried using a cheap GPS dongle from Garmin and no luck in a web browser (but worked great in Google Earth).

THANK YOU for any help or suggestions!!

-Lisa

Not direct answer to your question, but I have found that in ExB (and old WAB) if you add the My Location widget, you are able to zoom to your location on GPS enabled devices like iPad/iPhone in the browser.

I don't have GPS enabled windows box to test, but is possible you could go that route.

R_
