Use Python/REST API to automate replica removal

Hi folks. Does anybody out there have a python recipe to un-register all replicas from a hosted layer? Our organization has a handful of datasets that we update a couple times a year, and usually get pulled into 30-50 mobile devices. Obviously it's possible to un-register them manually so the layer can get overwritten but this sounds like the perfect case for an automated tool.

Wondering if anybody else has encountered this problem and can provide a start point. Thank you!

Is your hosted layer on AGOL or Enterprise?
