When using < and > in a domain list, the options show as ">1m≤2m" and "<0.3m"

Morning,

I have a couple of domain lists which include the '<' and '>' signs, these show up as either &lt or &gt when adding new features.

As I understand it this is the html way of displaying these symbols as they are reserved symbols in html.

However, I was wondering if there is a way to override this output? Anything that can be added via the ArcGIS REST Services Directory of the layer perhaps?
