How to overwrite web layer used in hosted feature layer view with joins?

Is there a workaround to overwriting a web layer that is used in a View Layer?

ESRIs solution is to delete the view but this is obviously problematic in PRD. Are there any solutions that work?

@TL2 My understanding is you'd have to delete the view, overwrite the service, and then recreate the view with the new service.

You could schedule a day for down time, overwrite it and then make a new view.
