Here's a follow up question to that. I have two webmaps in which many layers are displayed as views. I did this because I subset the data by certain parameters from a central data source.

If I open the map in ArcPro and run import symbology, then save the web map - does it upload everything as feature layers or will it retain the "view-i-ness" of each one?

Hi all,

I would like to be able to have a feature layer in a webmap multiple times but symbolised based on different fields with unique value renderers.

I can add the feature layer in and apply symbology manually but i have hundreds of unique values and i would be here forever applying symbology manually. Is there a way of importing the web map layer symbology from a layer file or a different feature layer?

Thanks

If you have ArcGIS Pro you can open the web map with that, import symbology from a layer file, then save the web map.

Hi,

Sorry, another question on this. How can I change the feature templates as I will have 2 layers in the webmap pointing at the same feature layer which will have different symbology but how can I change the feature template for both for when a feature is being created in field maps?

Thank you

If you open the web map in “Field Maps Designer” and look at the smart form for the layer there is a tab next to form to edit the template of the layer.

Hi, thank you. I have tried that but i can only edit existing templates. How do i create a new one based on a different field? It has the template from the original layer that I added in and applied the different symbology to through ArcGIS Pro.

You can duplicate an existing template then with it selected you'll be able to change its display name and default fields in the properties pane. When you set default field values the symbology should automatically change to reflect the way it is symbolized on the map.

Thank you. I have tried that but the field that is currently used is greyed out so I can't change it to blank and then set the template based on a different field.

I want the feature template to be based on a different field.
