Any idea when im trying to publish a new layer to AGOL its taking 30+minutes to finish?

It's been sitting on this prompt for 30+ minutes. This usually takes 3-5 minutes. Even exporting layers have been taking way longer than usual.

I have noticed exporting layers taking a lot longer than in the past. Sometimes using the export tool is a little quicker than the other option when you would just right click the layer in your project and export it. I have not had any issues with publishing layer yet. Could be network connection, wifi is slower than be connected via ethernet. Maybe you are working with larger data sets? If your data and workflow have been pretty much the same there might be something else at play. It might be helpful to also reach out to Esri support. I have been considering doing the same because of how long it now takes to export layers.

This is a layer with 600 items and all I was doing was sending it to Agol.. and it's just spinning the wheels.

That doesn't sound like a large dataset at all. Restarting computer could help. Sometimes I try and create a new ArcGIS Pro project and share the layer from there. If you cancel the upload, it's possible the service definition and an unfinished hosted feature layer made it into AGOL. I would delete those and remove them from the recycle bin before you try an upload again.

I canceled it and re started and it took 3 minutes to finish this time.

If you have a network capture tool like Fiddler on the same machine you can monitor all the requests Pro is making to AGOL. This can help you determine how much data is being sent out from your machine, how frequently, what AGOL's response time is and if it's throwing any errors. I'd also recommend working through a service ticket (or phone a friend) so that someone can replicate your setup and compare logs.

This might be a guess in the dark, but where are we publishing this from? I have seen some performance issues lately in regards to publishing from Projects, or Data sources that are stored on OneDrive.

This can be the case if we are working with a project that gets a lot of edits, or has numerous users accessing it.

This could be the case for me, I keep almost all my projects in OneDrive. I have noticed if I keep projects in my C Drive, I do have slightly better performance but then I have the issue of not being able to access my projects on other devices, and or others accessing my projects (not at the same time).
