Hi all,

I have a CSV file containing information about electricity data for all the U.S. counties.

When I add the data with "Add layer from file" it requires the latitude and longitude for each county.

So I added this latitude/longitude information to the CSV and repeated the previous step.

When the data is added to a layer, the electricity data shows up as points on the map.

My goal is to display this electricity data for all individual county boundary areas. Essentially I would like to create a choropleth map, but the data is currently displayed as a pinpoint for each county.

1. I don't have ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Enterprise. Is this possible using the free ArcGIS online account?

2. If so, do you have recommendations on how to get the data to be displayed as the county boundary areas and not as an individual point?

I spent over 7 hours of research on this topic and I noticed many of the proposed solutions were either outdated or required the need of a business account to do the analysis.

Any tips or recommendations is very much appreciated!!

I attached a photo example of the data for New Hampshire and its 10 counties. The data shows as points, and the goal is to display it as the county boundary areas.

Take a look at this. You want to do a join of the csv and county boundaries. Not sure if the functionality operates on free version.

https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/join-a-table-to-a-feature-layer-in-arcgis-online/

Regards,

Tom
