topic Replace Web Layer: Retain Archive Layer’s Details when running Replace Web Layer in ArcGIS Online Questions

We are using the Replace Web Layer tool to replace a Tile Layer on AGOL with updated versions of the dataset as they become available. We are trying to create a clean workflow to clearly track which versions the archive layers belong to. However, even when the “Replace Item Information” setting is not checked, the archived layer still gets updated to contain the Update Layer item’s detail information. This leads to confusion, given the Archive Layer still represents the previous version. Is this expected behavior or a bug? We’d like the Archive Layer to retain it’s previous details stated the previous version.
