Edit Layer Id's for Hosted Feature Service

Is there a way to update the existing layer ids for a hosted feature service short of re-publishing?

We have some layers published a while ago by someone who didn't know how to manually assign layer ids, and as such, for example the layers in one of the services have ids of 4,10,2,6 rather than the expected 0,1,2,3.

The layers have views that are actively used, so re-publishing is not really an option unless we inconvenience a huge amount of field workers due to downtime and having to re-configure all of the views/maps/field maps smart forms.

I have always done it in Pro prior to publishing

I know this is an old question which I stumbled upon while requiring same solution to edit hosted layer id without republishing.

I did find a solution via ArcGIS Server ADMIN URL and edit the JSON of the hosted Feature Server.

Hope this helps to anybody in future
