Organizing Layers on ArcGIS Online Map and Webmap Applications

I was looking for a way to organize the many layers I have on my Social Media Web app, in a tree-like fashion. For example, put layers belonging to census dissemination level of geography into the folder for census dissemination, and put the layers belonging to municipalities into the municipalities folder.

Is it possible to do something like this on ArcGIS Online? Unfortunately I was not able to do this on the map interface on ArcGIS Online.

Have you tried using group layers? You can even group layers in a group layer.

Grouping layers sounds very logical. I could not create any folders and could not move the layers. I have to see why that is.

Grouping layers did not work as I cannot upload it online!
