ArcGIS Web App not displaying KML properly

Hi there,

I am trying to add a KML layer to my web application that I developed to edit a feature layer.

When I add the KML to the map itself it shows up fine, but within the application it does not show the point features, only the lines. The same happens if I upload it with the "add data" widget in the application, it only shows the lines.

Is there any way of fixing this or do I have to convert my data to a different file type first?

I built an app with the Web AppBuilder for my organization. It has widgets like editing and add data. I tried adding a KML and it does not show the points. Same thing happens if I save it as a file and load it into the basemap of that app. It shows it in the map, but not in the app.

It is telling me that kmz's are not supported, so I cannot upload it in here.
