Distance between 2 addresses for a large list of addresses (3000 total)

I have a list of addresses, roughly 3000. One is current and one is previous. I am trying to find the distance between these two. I am running 10.8. What tools, extensions, etc would allow me to do this efficiently?

Are they geocoded yet or just plain addresses? Are you saying you have 3000 previous addresses and 3000 new addresses and you want to find the distance between each one? Is there a field which links them to identify old and new? As-the-crow-flies distance or along a transport network? If so, by car or walking etc?

Have not been geocoded yet. Finding the distance between the linked "previous" and "current" address. I would like to find it along the transport system by car.
