Using collaboration to share data between Portal and AGOL

Hi folks,

We are trying to figure out the best way to host our content in multiple locations (ArcGIS Enterprise & AGOL). Our ArcGIS Enterprise system is hosted behind a firewall and is not exposed to the public. We are testing collaboration in order to share our base layers from Portal to AGOL. This seems to work rather nicely, especially since we don't need to write/execute weekly update scripts. The collab group within our AGOL environment is shared to the organization only. Does anyone see an issue with this? What, if any, are some of the downfalls. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 - 3 tiered system with web adaptor on it's own server, portal on own server, ArcGIS Server and data store on same server. In addition, we are using a NetScaler to front all requests to our ArcGIS Enterprise.
