Issues creating View from single layer in a Hosted Feature Layer

Hello,

In a fairly recent AGO update, the past year or 2, we got the ability to click on individual layers within a hosted feature layer. After clicking on a layer, you are given the option of creating a View of just that layer. I have never been able to get this to work; after creating the View, there is nothing within the Data or Visualization tabs. When you try to add to a new map, just opens a blank map. Is this a known issue?

Would be great to get this to start working. Would actually love the option of creating a view of multiple specific layers, more than one but not all, from a hosted feature layer. I do currently have a work around of deleting layers from a view's definition from the admin rest, but that's a bit burdensome.
