Can you delete features after a sync from Collector?

Hey there!
I was wondering if any of you user out there can help me with figuring out a quick way to delete features that I have collected after I sync them up with online and download the shape file. The reason I am asking is I have a field person that is collecting data, daily (asset management) and I would like to delete the data once I have it on my desktop since every time I sync, I also get the old data that I already have. Is there a simple way to do this. Thanks!

Just an additional note, I can delete the points one by one but can't get it to remove all of them at once while editing.

I added a definition query to the layer in the collector map that basically turns off all the features that have data. After sync, I have the field people remove all data, keep the basemap and re-download the service and because of the query it comes back empty and de-clutters the map.
