embedded maps that disappear

Yesterday I created a simple map with just a couple of layers. Then I embedded it on a web page created with Google Sites. Everything worked fine.

Today I checked the Google site and there is just a blank rectangle where the map used to be. I tried using share to recopy the html code and again embedded it in the Google site web page, but it doesn't show up.

Last week I had a similar problem with maps disappearing from StoryMaps. Today the StoryMap map suddenly reappeared.

I have an ArcGIS public account.

Any ideas about what is going on?

It appears to have been a cache problem. Everything seems to be working fine when I try access it through a private browsing window.
