Map without borders

Hello,

I am new to this, so please accept my apologies if my question sounds naive. I am trying to create a map showing the countries before World War I, therefore, I need a map of Europe without borders and names on it so I can draw the borders as they were back then. Is there a way to do that?

There is another option. Open a map. Add data and search for "Europe WW1".

There are a few options that come up and you can use it as a layer or as a basemap.

Unfortunately I was unable to find one with no borders.

What if you just find a map of the continents and then zoom to Europe? That way you have all the land without the borders.
