Or are you using ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Some background information on feature layers.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A class="link-titled" href="https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/feature-layers.htm#:~:text=A%20feature%20layer%20is%20a,most%20commonly%20used%20layer%20type." title="https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/feature-layers.htm#:~:text=A%20feature%20layer%20is%20a,most%20commonly%20used%20layer%20type."&gt;Feature layers—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you are in ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro&amp;nbsp;can also right click on a feature layer, select properties, select source and see where it is pulling the data from. That will indicate if your shapefile is still being referenced.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>Featured Layers - OK to Delete Source?</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;When ArcGIS is&amp;nbsp;converted to a&amp;nbsp; feature layer from say an shp file, is it ok to then delete that shp file? Or is the Featured Layer 'pulling' data from that initial shp file?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
