      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;The solution in the &lt;A href="http://resources.arcgis.com/EN/HELP/MAIN/10.1/index.html#//00sq0000009v000000"&gt;Help&lt;/A&gt; for this problem states:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Change the layer's renderer so that it uses one of the following supported renderers&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Simple&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Unique value (single field only, no groups)&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Class Breaks (graduated colors or graduated symbols)&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Unique values can be used, if you add a new field and concatenate the fields you used in the renderer. Bare in mind that if there are many unique values, you may run into problems (and the result would not be very user friendly)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Kind regards, Xander&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
