Good morning,

I'm a consistent user of ArcGIS online from Nigeria. My ArcGIS online account is 'adeoye_supportssystems'.

I discovered that good resolution imagery does not cover all cities in Nigeria. For instance, I'm presently working on placing all locals and international airports in Nigeria on the platform and I found out that some of this airports are not covered with high resolution imagery e.g. areas in the south-south and south-eastern parts of the country. Some of the examples of the imagery are attached with this mail.

I will be very grateful if ESRI management can look into this so that the technology of ArcGIS online will be effectively make use of in this part of the world.

I thank you.

Adeoye,

SSL, Nigeria.

Hey Adeoye,

ESRI consistently updates their world imagery and I think they are under the mercy of companies, what has been flown in what kind of resolution. I don't think they contact people to fly certain areas, I would think that would be too expensive.

Do you have access to a bing map key? If not, maybe go to bing and look at the same area and if it has a better resolution it might be worth buying a bing map key.

Tim

Hello Tim,

I thank you for your reply to my earlier mail.

You just advised me to use bing map. Does bing map host data for client with users like arcgis online does? If so, I will find out how to buy the key.

Regards.

Adeoye
