topic Coordinate System Error in AGOL in ArcGIS Online Questions

Original User: Carlynne

Hi,

I am facing size limits on trying to upload a zipped shapefile that's 100 MB to our organizational AGOL account.

Thus, I am experimenting with publishing this line feature class from Desktop as a tiled service using 5 different scales. The flow lines show show the migration of refugees from nine camps along the border to the various cities they have resettled to throughout the world. I made sure my layer was projected to web Mercator auxiliary sphere. And I selected the Google Earth/Bing Maps tiling scheme.

However, when I try to add this layer from my AGOL content, I get a spatial reference error that it can??t match any base data or my other operational layers that I simply uploaded to AGOL, including refugee camps and resettled cities.

See screen shots. Any suggestions?

You projected your data into WGS 84 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere, but is the Data Frame of the mxd also in WGS 84 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere? It's more important to have your data frame in that coordinate system than your data.
