Using Multiviewer Template with ArcGIS Server services instead of arcgis.com maps?

So I would like to skip a step of making arcgis.com maps and instead just use ArcGIS Server services (which in the past I had been using) to make ArcGIS.com maps.

Then I just tweak the code in the mutliviewer template to use arcgis server services/layers instead of arcgis.com.

Is that even possible?

So you want to use the template and modify it to directly connect to ArcGIS Server services? Yes, this is possible. The templates are JavaScript code built on the JavaScript API. You should be able to do this. Consult the JavaScript API help and if you have questions, post to the JavaScript forum.

The code is not in the help. You simply download the template when sharing the map (instead of publishing).

No, I never did solve my problem.

One of the issues that we have with these templates is that having public facing maps using "credits" in the "For Organizations Subscription Service" is a bit scary to us. So we would like to use these templates without putting the map on ArcGIS.com for fear of using all of our credits on a runaway yahoo.com link to our map story for example.

Have not had time to develop this.
