So I'm fairly new to the whole ArcGIS Online thing (my company is still primarily using 9.3.1 for everything, though we have licenses for 10.x and one machine running it, and just got our AGOL organizational account set up.)

We have previously used Spatial Analyst to extract profile elevations along our data, but I was looking to make the process a little easier by using the Profile tool in the elevation services in ArcMap 10.2.2.

However, whenever I try to use them by either drawing a line in the "InputLineFeatures" layer created, or using my own data, I receive an error (000824: the tool is not licensed. Failed to execute (InterpolateShape).) We do not have 3D analyst, but from everything I've seen the elevation services do not require anything beyond the standard ArcMap license.

Am I doing something wrong? or misunderstanding something in how these work? I haven't been able to find any help on this, despite spending the last day or so scouring the internet.
