How do I allow the user to choose different fields to map?

In ArcGIS Online, I want the user to be able to pick one field from a list and then the program would map that field. I only want one field to be mapped at a time.

I am new to ArcGIS Online.

Hi Jenna,

I think some close alternatives to that application would be:

Digital Storytelling with Maps | ArcGIS StoryMaps

or Esri Story Map Series - Present a Set of Maps and Other Content

To have the interactive, pre-configured renderers like the application you link, you will need to develop a custom application with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript‌ or possibly a Web AppBuilder Custom Widgets.
