Error creating a local copy

I have a hosted feature service in AGOL. I pulled it into ArcMap and tried to create a local copy and got the following error:

A local copy could not be created.

Expected to find comma, colon or start of array; state : endOfObject; buffer : }<!DOCTYPE html>

Any ideas?
