ArcGIS Online - Organization vs Personal Account features question

According to the features comparison chart at http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/arcgisonline/features/comparison-table.html, one of the features available on the ArcGIS Online for Organizations plan that's not available on the free personal account subscription is "Publish hosted services in Esri�??s cloud". What exactly is this? How is this different than creating a map and linking to map services on one's ArcGIS Server?

If you don't have ArcGIS Server, you can essentially publish your service to Esri's ArcGIS Server running in the cloud.

Mike, thanks. So that means that with a personal account you'll still be able to link to one's ArcGIS Server to make a map, but with the organization account you'll be able to upload mxd/msd files?

Yes, you can still add layers to your web map that point to your ArcGIS Server.

I wouldn't think so since that's a feature that's available with the free (personal) account.
