Only 2000 features show

I'm an arcgis online newbie. I opened an organization trial account so that I can have city employees have access to data and edit features that I need. My problem is that when I download the shapefile it still has all the same information and shows 6558 features no changes. I download feature service and it shows 2000 features but does include changes. What am I doing wrong? I just want to make sure that I can download everything that was edited and I'm not missing data.

how are you downloading the features in the feature service. From the item details page, there is an option to export the data to a shapefile. Under the Layers section of the details page, click the arrow next to the layer you want to export. Is this what you're doing?

No mike I wasn't doing that but now that I did everything worked out fine. When it asked me that before I was afraid I would over-write the first shapefile I uploaded. Now I know. Thanks alot.
