Can you upload tools (ArcCatalog), models (model builder), or scripts to your ArcGIS Online account and run them against online feature layers? There are some easy workflows in ArcMap which aren't available in ArcGIS Online. I would like to create a model using common tools in ArcCatalog, save it as a script, upload the ArcGIS Online, and add it to a Web App as a widget. Any help on this for a non-developer?

Hi Ben,

The ability to host geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Online is not available. There are some pre-created analysis tools available in ArcGIS Online that may perform some of the tasks that you are looking for.

If you have ArcGIS Server, you can publish a geoprocessing service and use the geoprocessing service in the web app builder with the geoprocessing widget.

This has been an logged on the ideas site as a feature that other users are also looking for. Please go ahead and promote the idea if this is something that you would like to see integrated into ArcGIS Online.

Thank you Kelly, both of your suggestions are helpful, I'll promote the idea and publish a geoprocessing service in the mean time.
