Fundamental to any GIS is the ability to point and click on a mapping feature, and display attributes, even if its a random Z value off a map or DEM. Otherwise, we might as well call it a CAD viewer...right? What's disconcerting is the removal of a key feature in ArcGIS.com data viewer, and the fact it was done overnight with little or no community notice. I had planned to do a demo showing its capability but when I prepped for it notice the IDENTIFY tool was gone. PLEASE make this a priority to add it back ASAP. Its a great way to preview elevation and bathy-topo DEMs maps without having to deal with a lot data.
