idea Reorder legend, without reordering layer list in ArcGIS Online Ideas

I am hoping that this idea can be pushed forward...

In ArcGIS Online, either map viewer or in Web App Builder, I want to be able to reorder my legend, without changing the order of my layers. Our project has a specific layer order that is needed for maximum usability, but we have a few layers that we want to emphasize in the legend (be at the top), unfortunately, these are the layers that are at the bottom of the list.

The map/app of layers in question is found here: https://westernu.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/28de95b8ac104adcbf416fa785d4835d

We need those contour layers to be the bottom layer, but we want to highlight them at the top of the legend.

Would be very useful to have, and after discussing this with Esri support, I don't think it is currently possible.

I just into a situation where I would like to do exactly what you described. I also don't think this is possible in ArcGIS Online.

I've also come across the need for this ability. Commenting to boost!

Same issue here, reordering legend items is an absolute necessity.

Yes, we would also like to have this functionality as often the ordering of feature layers when displayed in the map is different to the custom ordering that is required for the legend. Furthermore we would also like the option to group layers in the legend into sections to make it even easier to find the layers.
