Nowadays social media is a hot spot for discussions. Doing a spatial analysis on tweets and comparing with different social variables would be a very interesting insight.

I would like to have the ability to embed live tweets on maps.

This was a thing from 2011 to 2015, simply by using the public information web app, but that seems to have dried up, quite handy for natural disasters to get a quick overall picture of immediate affect's; which is why I found this post. Currently searching for where this now lies or if it exists.

Based on follow-up information the problem is that Social Media providers (Ie Twitter Etc) have deprecated their location API's and obliviously the apps depend on that and no longer really work. Some third party providers have aggregation techniques that can supplement, but not free and not easy to quickly deploy without initial or running setup.
