Add the capacity to change the data source URL for referenced feature layers

I would like to see the ability to change the data source URL on the item settings page added in AGO. We have many referenced feature layers that we've brought in as items in AGO. If the REST urls change on any of these services, we have to create a new item in AGO with the updated url, and we lose any settings which are associated with the layer in AGO (popups, symbology, etc.).

Have you tried ArcGIS Online Assistant: https://ago-assistant.esri.com/

Yes, it looks like you can make the change in AGO assistant but the changes do not persist after saving.

@ElisabethFenn did you try updating the JSON for the layer in AGO assistant?

@Neal_t_k Yes. In AGO assistant, I can edit the JSON and change the source URL but the changes don't actually stick when I save them.

If you take a look at that community post I linked in the original post you can see what I and others have tried.

@ElisabethFenn Sorry I missed that entry...Could have sworn I had done it this way before. Never mind then.
