Instant App - Social media share button doesn't work

The Instant App Social media share button doesn't work if the web map consists of "too many" layers (so far I have been unable to ascertain what the limit is).

You can add the button to the app, but when the user clicks on it, nothing happens.

It would be a better UX if the builder stopped you adding the share button to an app that is too complex for it to cope with. It would also be helpful if this limitation was documented.

Hi, Here is Solution to Instant App Social Media Share Button Problem

Simplify the Web Map :-

Reduce Layers: Kill nonessential layers to make the map simpler.

Consolidate Layers: Where it makes sense to do so, consolidate similar data into single layers.

Testing:

Incremental Testing: Start with a very simple map and add one layer at a time to isolate when the share button fails.

User Experience Improvements:

Block 'Add Share Button': Change the app builder not to allow the creation of a share button if the map has too many layers.

User Feedback: Enable the app to tell the user why a share button is not enabled and provide an action item on simplifying the map.

Documentation:

Document the Limitation: Clearly document this limitation in the number of layers in user guides.

@SarahNoakes1 is your map public? If so can you shre it so we can take a look? If not can you tell me more about your map? How many layers? Also if you run your app with the developer tools open are there any errors?

I think there are about 220 layers at present. We are trying to convince users that small, subject specific sites would be better, but they are used to having everything in one place.

I haven't noticed any errors.
