Configure Search in Map Viewer

Please incude the configure search option available in Web App Builder to Map Viewer. One problem the configuration solves is setting/editing Zoom to scale when a searched item (locator search bar) is clicked on which is currently not possible in Map Viewer.

Also you can't really use a Map Viewer map in Web App Builder because it does not support Arcade Element Popups, it returns them empty.

The current search zoom extent is set in the default World Geocoder by the bounding box of the feature being matched to (plus a little extra). If using Instant Apps, you can configure the zoom level for a match.

Search can additionally be refined and configured by the organization administrator for Map Viewer. This is found in Organization > Settings > Utility services > Geocoding. See Configure utility services for more info.

Layers in a web map can also be configured for search. See Configure feature and table search for maps for more info.

Because Web AppBuilder is a JS API 3.x app it's not compatible with new features and capabilities in Map Viewer (like Arcade). While not going anywhere soon, your best path forward is ArcGIS Experience Builder (which includes similar templates to Web AppBuilder) or potentially one of the Instant Apps. Is it possible to modify the bounding box to modify the Zoom level/scale?

It turns you can actually edit the Zoom level of the map search tool in Experience Builder which is actually tied to the extent set in Map Viewer. This can be done by changing the extent box size under item details page settings.

In Map Viewer you cannot modify the bounding box for search results, unless you thought to build a custom locator. But as you've found with Experience Builder, the search extent is somewhat controllable in the apps you'll use for your maps.
