Typing "0.5" results in "0.15." Typing ".5" results in "5." Typing ".05" results in "0.105." Therefore, it is impossible to reliably use widths less than 1; please allow for this simple functionality sooner rather than later. For a work around while we look into it try highlighting the value after the decimal place and enter in the desired number.
